Ohne jeglichem Eingriff in die Fahrzeugelektronik und keinerlei sonstigen Umbauten, funktioniert dieses Multimedia-Interface einfach über den vorhandenen BeckerMapPilot-Schacht im Handschuhfach. BeckerMapPilot raus, Neues Multimedia-Interface einstecken, Anmelden genau nach Anleitung (Audio noch getrennt). Und alles funktioniert perfekt. Ich nutzte überwiegend "AndroidAuto" mit einem Samsung-Handy. Keinerlei Probleme.
Alles wird am vorhandenen Mercedes-Monitor dargestellt, Audio kommt über die Fahrzeuglautsprecher und sämtliche Tasten (incl. dem Drehregler in der Mittelkonsole) funktionieren wie mit der Original Mercedes-Lösung (auch Telefonieren, Lautstärke regeln, Spracherkennung usw.). Richtig genial.
Nur eines muss man dazu noch wissen: Das normale Mercedes-Radio (Radio-Taste) funktioniert zwar weiterhin, aber NICHT parallel zusammen mit dem Ton des Media-Interface. Also entweder Radio-Ton oder Ton vom Media-Interface. Aber man kann sich z.B. das Google-Maps Navi am Bildschirm anzeigen lassen und als Ton das ganz normale Autoradio abspielen (hat mal halt dann keine akustischen Ansagen bei Abbiegungen etc. Hier schalte ich dann einfach bei Bedarf (durch drücken der Mercedestaste [Disc] wieder auf den Ton des Media-Interface um - dann ist halt in dieser Zeit das Mercedes-Radio nicht mehr hörbar, aber ich habe alle Mitteilungen/Abbiegehinweise dann von Google-Maps etc.
Angeblich schlechte Qualität der Töne oder auch bei Telefonaten kann ich überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen - mein Gegenüber versteht mich optimal und alle sonstigen Töne sind sehr gut.
Bin von der Lösung vollkommen begeistert.
ACHTUNG STOLPERFALLE (für alle, die keinen Ton aus dem Media-Interface herausbekommen): Hier muss der Punkt 8 "Bluetooth Audio Connection" der beiliegenden Anleitung genau gelesen werden. Hier bei Step 1 NICHT auf den ersten Punkt "BT Audio Geräte suchen" gehen, sondern auf den zweiten Eintrag "Suche am BT Gerät starten (engl. Connect via BT audio device") – siehe Bild im Anhang. Im nächsten Fenster einfach ein paar Sekunden warten bis dann die Frage nach der Authentifizierung kommt und dann zweimal JA/YES drücken. Und schon ist auch der Ton über die Mercedes-Lautsprechern hörbar. Da bin ich auch fast verzweifelt, weil ich immer über Punkt 1 "BT Audio Geräte suchen" gegangen bin. Das ist in der Anleitung zwar eigentlich korrekt beschrieben, dass man den Punkt 2 wählen muss, aber das übersieht man trotzdem gern. Daher haben wohl viele solche Probleme, einen Ton heraus zu bekommen.
Ich würde das Gerät jederzeit empfehlen. Wertet meinen über 10 Jahre alten Mercedes extrem auf und bietet damit endlich die aktuellen Multimedia Funktionen und vor allem Google Maps mit immer aktuellen Karten.
Aber beachten, dass AndroidAuto und alle anderen Mulitmedia-Funktionen immer am Handy eine Datenverbindung haben müssen und dann auch entsprechend Datenverbrauch beim Navigieren oder Musik-Streamen verbraucht (aber das ist ja auch so, wenn ich bisher mit meinem Handy und einer Handyhalterung im Auto navigiert habe - hat also nichts mit diesem Multimedia-Interface zu tun).
Daher nutze ich zum Musikhören immer noch das Mercedes-Radio (mit den oben schon beschriebenen Einschränkungen). Habe dann hier auch keinen Datenverbrauch.

Hello CaraBC team, your product is simply brilliant. I have rarely experienced such an easy installation. Plug in, connect and have fun. The workmanship of the device is top-notch. Super quality and in no way worse than the original. The only thing that takes a bit of adjustment is the audio setting. It has to be adjusted in terms of volume when making calls and then back to audio. The same with the navigation. But I am completely satisfied with the device. The price/performance ratio is TOP. I don't know of any other device that is as good as yours. Thank you for your effort and the brilliant product.
