I would love to give a review of this product, but I still have not received it.

Overall, mostly satisfied. I'm still struggling to get some things to work correctly. I wish there were better instructions and Resorces for questions

We have just installed the CarABC upgrade in my 2017 UK Ford Edge and I am delighted with the result.

I’ve been looking for a CarPlay solution for a few years and had considered some other much more expensive aftermarket upgrades which I was going to have to pay someone to install but the reviews on them weren’t great and it didn’t seem worth the risk.

This product is brilliant, it was a fraction of the price and we were able to install it ourselves.

We don’t have any experience of this sort of upgrade but it was relatively straightforward. We thought we had followed all the steps correctly but couldn’t get it to work initially. Thankfully we found a couple of YouTube videos where they took you from unboxing right through to installation. These were more detailed than the instructions and QR code video on the instructions that came in the box and thanks to those videos we realised we had missed a simple step involving tiny white switches on the side of the device which need to be switched on.

With installation complete it was really easy to connect wirelessly to CarPlay and switching from Sync to CarPlay is just a simple press of a button on the steering wheel.

Tips for installation

Find the two YouTube videos where they take you from unboxing to installation and watch them first. We also had to find another video to explain how to take apart the dashboard/gear stick area of the Ford Edge unit which isn’t as straightforward as some of the other Fords but relatively straightforward when you have a video to follow.

If you already have a camera installed in your car when you get to the step with the row of tiny white switches there’s an extra switch (switch 1) that you need to switch on for the camera to work. The tiny diagram in the instructions tells you which of the other switches need turned on. Both our rear and front cameras still work as they should even when we are in CarPlay.

We have found that choosing ‘Line in’ or ‘Aux in’ on Sync before switching to CarPlay is needed for the sound to come through for Spotify, SatNav etc

All in all we couldn’t be happier with this product and I’m delighted that I finally have CarPlay

So easy to install once you know what you are doing and the instructions were well set out and easy to read. It has made my life so much easier now that I have this installed. Thank you so much
