Audi Wireless CarPlay e Android Auto

Let me tell you about the CARABC 7-inch Wireless Car Radio – it's been a game-changer for me!

First off, being someone who gets lost easily, having GPS navigation right on the screen has been a game-changer. I used to fumble with my phone trying to figure out where to go, but now I can glance at the screen and know exactly where I need to be. It's boosted my confidence on the road big time!

And let's talk about music – I used to use a Bluetooth receiver in my car, but the sound quality was awful. This radio, though? It's a whole different story. I hooked it up with an aux cable, and the sound is crystal clear. Plus, with all the potholes in my city, I was worried it might shake loose, but it hasn't budged an inch.

What's even cooler is that I can easily listen to and respond to my messages with the G Assistant. It's like having a personal assistant right in my car!

Overall, I'm super impressed with this CARABC Car Radio. It's made my drives safer, more enjoyable, and way less stressful. If you're an Android user like me and want a reliable GPS, killer sound quality, and seamless messaging, this is the way to go!

Oh, and guess what? I'm so impressed that I'm getting one for my mom too. She's going to love it!

As mentioned in other reviews the instructions aren't great, but you can figure it out with YouTube and common sense.

I didn't install the USB port as I only wanted to use this wirelessly. The wifi antenna is pretty weak, so I routed it to be next to the cup holder, but to do that you have to take the trim around the screen and instrument cluster off, then remove the trim around the steering column, then the trim by the pedals. Then you can push the antenna out the back of the radio area into the footwell then you can run it under the center console trim and get it to the cup holder without cutting anything.

So after figuring that out, the only issues I have is that it is hard to get the stereo head unit back into the dash with all the new wiring.

But the major issue that is a huge issue, the volume up buttons on the steering wheel and center console do not control the audio through Android Auto. I have not tried apple car play. I can turn the volume down, but then not back up.

The work around I use, is select radio, turn the volume to max , deafen yourself for a few seconds, change the source back to AMI then go to Android Auto then you can turn the volume down to where you want it.

I did contact support and they usually get back within 24hrs on Whatsapp and I would say they are quite helpful. But they told me the volume is not supported at this time.... so. It sure if there will be an update and maybe it can be flashed, but then I have to get the box back out from behind the dash, and I'm not sure that is worth it.

Overall I am pretty happy it's nice to have Google maps and everything up on the screen.

I have issues with phone calls too. I usually have to disconnect the phone.

Getting the Audi head unit out was a snap. Put the two keys in the slot straight side facing out All connectors have a tab and pull out. There's two on the bottom, the rest are on the rear. Getting the removal keys OUT was a pain. Get GOOD quality keys and the removal shouldn't be tough.

Finding a place for the box was tricky, as well as working with the large amount of cabling in the dash but I figured it out. Day 3 now and there's an occasional skip in music playback from Spotify and I had on disconnection from wireless android auto.

Signal isn't an issue as I found a hidden location for the antenna tucked right before the center console. It might just be a channel issue. All the stock controls I've tried worked fine. I have limited dexterity in my right hand and I actually find the rotary control easier than a touch screen for precision.

Google maps works great! For the price this was a worthwhile upgrade.

Very good product. I drive an A5 2012 Audi and this is an big upgrade to my car. I wish there is upgraded radio for this car, I’m sure there is but no luck yet. So this helps a lot. I did blow a fuse hooking this up so I recommend unhooking car battery. SUPER EASY INSTALL!!! All I did was watch YouTube videos. If you don’t feel comfortable take it to an audio shop and they can hook it up. Again super easy don’t get overcharged. I almost paid $200 for labor to do this! 2 flaws!!! There is a slight skip in the music from time to time it’s unnoticeable but you start to pick up on it. Also it says to press the menu button for 3 seconds to switch from factory screen to CarPlay but doesn’t work!!! The music still works but you can’t switch. I have to turn the car off and on for it to reset again. Otherwise a great fix until I find an upgraded radio for my car.
